Low Tox Lifestyle

Low Tox Lifestyle

What is a low tox lifestyle?

It’s where you are aware of the chemicals that are in your products, your environment and the food around you and you make a conscious effort to avoid those harmful toxins within your home and with the products that you use.

It’s a process, and many want to chuck out everything in their home all at once when they learn of the contaminants and the harm they do to us – but, this can be super overwhelming!

A little advice, pick a room and start there. Grow as you go, and learn in the process. For me, i started in the laundry – changed my washing powder, fabric softener and basic bench cleaner, and then i moved on to the next room, and the next room, and the next.

Most of us have grown up using harmful products without even knowing, because our parents and their parents had used them – sometimes, it’s all we know.Things like washing powders, dishwashing liquid, bleach on our floors, oven cleaners, fragranced room sprays and so much more.

The next main question asked is:
“If they’re so toxic, why are they sold on the supermarket shelves?”

This question we ALL would love to know too.
Products that are sold on the shelves are not monitored and manufacturers are not required to list their ingredients on their product labels.

The word fragrance can hide a cocktail of over 100+ toxic chemicals.

The most concerning thing for me is the fact that our children – the most precious gifts in life – are being born toxic, due to lack of knowledge of the contaminants in our products.

The EWG did research on this by taking the blood from a number of newborns placenta’s at birth and tested for a wide range of chemicals.
They found that the average newborn had 287 toxins in their blood at birth.

Out of those 287 toxins;

  • 180 were cancer causing.
  • 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system.
  • 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development.

This is just from exposure through mum.

By detoxing the body and reducing the toxic load in our homes and bodies, we can make a huge difference to how our body responds. It has a huge impact on our health for the better.

Think of your body as a fish tank for a second – if you didn’t clean the tank often, the water gets merkier and merkier, right?
It eventually gets so built up that the fish get starved of oxygen because the water becomes so dense.

Our bodies are much the same – we are made up with majority of water. When our water gets mucky, and dirty, it blocks receptors from receiving and sending signals throughout the body.

Our bodies function through electricity and frequency.
Cells, organs, blood etc vibrate at a certain frequency and they send signals throughout the body – when receptors get blocked, the electrical signal cannot be received or sometimes even sent.

This opens up opportunity for dis-ease in the body.

Reducing the toxic load within the body is a huge empowerment and a huge thankyou to your body.

So the reason for this blog, and why i educate people around this so passionately is to empower you to realise that there is a better way.

When we know better, we do better.

Enjoy the ride, reach out if you’re overwhelmed, and love your body through this adventure.
